Half lapper or 6U

Half Lappers:

  • A Half Lapper is any swimmer, 4-6 years of age as of May 1st, who cannot swim the length of the pool unaided in less than 60 seconds.  For safety, all half lappers must be able to swim safely to the side of the pool and keep their head afloat unaided while at practice
  • Half lappers must be 4 years old by May 1.
  • Half lappers swim just prior to the start of each home meet. They will have a coach with them in their lane and will swim 1 25-yard length of the pool. Each half lapper will be awarded a ribbon of choice. Half Lappers will not compete at away meets.
  • Half lappers may advance to 6U during the season

6 and under:

  • To compete as a 6 and under, the swimmer must be able to meet league standards of swimming the full length of the pool unassisted and under 60 seconds.  
  • Swimmer must be between ages 4-6 as of May 1st. 
  • 6U swimmers will compete at all meets, home and away
  • Swimmers in this group will compete in freestyle and mixed freestyle relay, and some may compete in backstroke.
